We all love devices that can do it all or, if they can’t do everything, they should at least do more than what others can do. With the Bushnell Hybrid PinSeeker Laser Rangefinder and GPS Unit, you have what is known as the first ever integrated laser and GPS rangefinder device used for golf. This is a device that combines the functions of a GPS with that of a laser rangefinder. Bushnell Hybrid PinSeeker Laser Rangefinder Reviews

Bushnell has taken great strides in its golf course tools, and one of those strides is its world-class PinSeeker laser technology. Now combine a PinSeeker laser rangefinder with a GPS unit, and you have a tool that every avid and smart golfer would love to have on the golf course. This combination makes it rank high on the convenience scale, since you do not have to bring two separate tools along with you. With just one tool – the hybrid – you have everything you need.

The Bushnell Hybrid functions as a no-frills, no-fuss basic GPS unit that is impressively intuitive. This allows the user to access any golf course, since it makes use of a database that already has 25,000 North American golf courses. The Auto Course Recognition function works very well with the preloaded golf courses, saving you a lot of time and effort in trying to locate the appropriate map to use. Accessing the database also does not require the payment of membership fees.

With this unit, users are given 4 custom points on a hole, which they can use to their advantage. The Shot Distance calculator also enables easier estimation of the distance taken by a drive or an approach. The distances to the front, back and center of the green are rendered so clearly that it will take only one glance at the LCD display to get the information. Unfortunately, most users find the screen a little too small, which is surprising considering how the unit itself is on the big and bulky side. That is one downside to this product: it’s not something you can simply slip into your pocket due to its bulk. The larger size is supposedly explained away by the fact that it combines two functionalities – basically two golf tools – in one package.

On the flip side, one feature that you will most likely value greatly in this hybrid unit is its accuracy. The Bushnell Hybrid 1500 allows the measurement of exact distances to the flag, tree, or practically any object found on the golf course. Strategizing your next move – even your entire game – is definitely made easier with this feature. It has an accuracy of +/- one yard, so you can be sure that, in the unlikely event of an error, the discrepancy would be insignificant.

Thanks to its PinSeeker technology, there are no problems affecting the accuracy of acquired targets since the background is pretty much blocked out. With your target isolated and the only thing focused on, you will be right on point every single time.

Just like the Neo+, the Bushnell Hybrid Laser GPS Golf Rangefinder is easy and simple to use. It has buttons with appropriate labels, and the user interface makes navigating the menu a breeze. In order to use the rangefinder function, all you have to do is aim for the desired target as it appears on your viewfinder, and then push the button. The rotating feature of the eyepiece allows easier focusing. Sadly, many users would probably think that the 5x magnification is somehow lacking. That however doesn’t mean that the device is useless in this regard. Many users would rather have this instead of using the naked eye.

Unfortunately, this hybrid unit still does not offer any scoring or statistics tracking. Some may also prefer a unit with a clock, and this one does not have any. Still, it more than makes up for it by how well the laser rangefinder works in pinpointing targets with great accuracy.

You can expect to make use of this hybrid unit for a very long time, and hundreds of rounds of golf. It is very durable, and Bushnell also fashioned it to be rainproof, so it can withstand usage even in the face of precipitation or snow.

You will definitely be pleased with how long the battery life of the Bushnell Hybrid is. Most likely this is because it has a bigger battery – a 3-volt rechargeable lithium-ion battery, to be exact. You can enjoy hours and hours and multiple rounds of golf before it gets drained.

Now let us talk about the price. The Bushnell Hybrid Laser GPS Golf Rangefinder is expensive – quite possibly one of the more expensive ones out there. However, when you take into account that you are essentially getting two tools for the price of one, the price is quite reasonable. Compare it to the cost of buying two separate units (a GPS unit and a Laser Rangefinder) and you will realize that the device is not expensive at all.

Does Feedback Justify The Price Of The Bushnell Hybrid

It is safe to say that the Bushnell Hybrid PinSeeker Laser Rangefinder and GPS Unit is the ultimate tool one could have on a golf course. Get the best of both worlds with this handy tool on your arsenal the next time you tee off.
